illness, or a child dies of cancer, do you think it is because God has no use for that person anymore? If you don't wake up in the morning, is it because God has decided you are no longer worthy of living?

I don't think that with our little peanut brains we can truly understand the motives of a Supreme Being. But I would like to believe that rather than have no further use for the person, God loves the person so much that He wants the person with Him in paradise for all eternity.

Absolutely not.

My mother died of cancer six years ago. I was with her to the end, and I saw her take her last breath. When she was gone, I knew she'd gone back to God, which is the greatest reward anyone can have - in my opinion.

To me, dying is a return home, to a place of pure love.

Dying is the natural end to our lives here on earth. It's inevitable. It's not a punishment or a condemnation. Granted, some people die in terrible ways, and I wish that was not the case. I wish my mother had not suffered with so much pain before her death. But I do not believe it was because God was angry at her, or issuing any kind of judgement. It was just the way she died.

If someone believes that death is a verdict or judgement by God, they must not think much of God to begin with.

Absolutley not. God has a purpose for every person he creates. Just because someone has to die does not mean God is done with them. There are mysteries of God that know one knows. Why people get cancer or why children die is unsure. Remember, we live in a unperfect world-God does not create these tragedies for us-but He will work through them. God loves us so much that he sacrificed his only son so we could live (try giving your only child up and making him carry every single sin of the world on his shoulder and suffering the pain for it!). But just because life ends early does not mean God is done with us. God is a loving God-no one is worthless in his eyes-He delights in the joy of you and what he created in you.

Not at all. God knows the precise moment you are going to die, and it makes no difference if you are sick or healthy as a horse, when He calls you, you are going. I lost my 24 year old grandson a week ago in an accident in Austin Texas, and it is true, I felt a deep sense of loss. But James was a born again Christian, and I know where he is now, and as I am 73 years old, I expect to see him soon. I don't blame God one whit for James' death. It is all part of the great plan He has for us.

I don't believe the concept that God "takes" anyone. Death happens. It's part of the natural world. I find it unacceptable to think that God picks and chooses who lives and who dies. Cancer is a disease of our environment, which mankind has influenced with poisons and pollution. Accidents are random acts.

no, God doesn't take away anyone they die. he doesn't give people cancer or cause tragic accidents. it just happens that is why God gave us the power to choose what is right. if someone drinks and drives and has a wreck and kills someone God did not cause that the person that chose to drink did.

No. When my Grandpa passed away last year at this time it was a blessing after having been ill with lung cancer for so long. And the cancer was my Grandpa's fault for smoking for most of his life.

if it's a child they are in heaven with God--and death is just a part of life. Usually the way people go is a testimony for the loved ones left behind. It's all in how you look at it.

It may be that He DOES have a special use for that person. Life goes on after our bodies die. And our time on this earth is so short, whether we die at the age of 1 or 100, and eternity is forever. There may be a lot for us to do when we cross over.

my daddy died of cancer. i feel it was cuz he didn't want my daddy to suffer from the illness any longer. I know, I know. God could have easily cured the disease. But he wanted my daddy to see true joy and happiness. somethin' u can't get on earth. i can't wait for that day to come.
