1 pound equals 16 ounces....1/2 equals 8 ounces.....8 ounces equals 1 cup.

You are looking at 1 cup of butter. Each pound of butter comes in 4 squares. Each square is 8 Tbls or 1/2 cup!

A quarter pound equals half a cup. So a half pound is a cup.

Should be 1 cup.
Butter is sold in 1 lb packages. Each has 4 tubes the tubes are 1/2 cup. So 2 tubes is 1/2 cup which would also be 1/2 lb.
