She did great job but I can't call her a saint. Her motive was to convert the peoples in Christianity. She was not doing all that charity without any selfish interest. A saint is someone who does things for no selfish interest.

The Jesuits were able with the help of the Pope's direct link with God to re animate Her body. As the Beautification process had already begun they couldn't Un Saint the grand old Doll so She became a living Saint. Sadly She just wanders around a closed part of the Vatican saying "Brains" all day and several members of the clergy have gone missing. When will they learn.

presently mother teresa is a saint, she has not been fully canonized a Saint in the Catholic church. there is a lot more to the process then just a declaration so it's presently in process. she was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to caring for God's children in manners which most ordinary humans would fail.

It takes a while for the catholic church to decide that someone was a saint. I don't think Mother Teresa is officially there yet.

No. In my opinion she was not a saint because she had ulterior motives when doing her philanthropist work.

The saintly ones have no desire for converting thousands of people to christianity using money as a tool.

Not nice - christians.

I wish christians would learn to do philanthropic work (if they really have unconditional love) without converting masses into their beliefs.

She was a very cool person. I don't know if the Church has plans on making her one though. There's this whole process beginning with a full investigation of her life, etc. to see how virtuous she actually was. She also has to have a couple of miracles attributed to her.

She has been declared "Blessed" as of the present but she will soon be declared a Saint and cannonized (put on the official list). I believe that she is in Heaven at this time and is thus a Saint.

She certainly was if you learn about her life. Unfortunately, the Roman Catholic church has not declared her one as yet. There are miracles that have to be proven, etc. ad. nauseum. Anyone is a saint in my book if she holds a child closely and picks maggots from their wounds and lice from their hair and still manages to make them feel loved. All who speak of her speak of her great love and humility.

It should be clear that "Mother" Teresa was anything but an Evangelical Christian. She was a self-sacrificing woman who followed a false religion. Consider some quotes from her speech at the 10/84 Worldwide Retreat for Priests:

(a) "At the word of a priest, that little piece of bread becomes the body of Christ, the Bread of Life."

(b) "Without a priest, without Jesus going with them, our sisters couldn't go anywhere."

(c) "When the priest is there, then can we have our altar and our tabernacle and our Jesus. Only the priest put Jesus there for us. ... Jesus wants to go there, but we cannot bring him unless you first give him to us. This is why I love priests so much. We could never be what we are and do the things we do without you priests who first bring Jesus to us."

(d) "Mary ... is our patroness and our Mother, and she is always leading us to Jesus.
She told how to witness for Jesus: In an interview with a nun who worked with "Mother" Teresa , dying Hindus were instructed to pray to their own Hindu gods!2 (reported in Christian News):

"These people are waiting to die. What are you telling them to prepare them for death and eternity? She replied candidly, 'We tell them to pray to their Bhagwan, to their gods.'"
The following is from an interview with a Catholic nun, "Sister" Ann, who worked in Kathman-du, Nepal, with "Mother" Teresa's organization Missionaries of Charity. The interview was conducted 11/23/84 at the Pashupati Temple:

Q: Do you believe if they die believing in Shiva or in Ram [Hindu gods] they will go to heaven?
A: Yes, that is their faith. My own faith will lead me to God, ... So if they have believed in their god very strongly, if they have faith, surely they will be saved.

Well I think they decided to give her that title after she died... Just handing it out to a good but normal human being, kinda takes away that magic of bible saints, huh?
