Does anyone else think like me?
I think older people should be encouraged to learn how to use the computer...Not for just banking but:
If they live alone...often that is very cruel ...so by even being able to use a site like this...they could spend time, helping others...
Giving all that life experience...and it would help to combat being lonely.They don't have to buy a computer...just use the Library as I do!...I have one at home, my 14yr old is always on...lol.
But, also they may not feel well and can even buy food on line, delievered to their home for less than $10.oo (well in australia)..
Not sure if other countries...and they can stay in touch with family...
I say lets teach one person over 50!!! to use a computer!
Whos with me.!!!

This sounds wonderful. (But when did 50 mean old?)
I see one problem to address: If many older people are on fixed incomes and cannot afford much, how will they pay for the Internet connection? Not everyone can get out and go to the library to use the computer. You have a noble idea and I hope that you find a way to make it work.

So then anyone over 50 is old ?
I do agree with you though , I just got my computer 10 months ago & I love it!
If I have a problen my brother helps , or my nephew .
I've been house bound for 3 yrs. but not because I'm old . I had a slip and fall and have had 3 back surgerys since . Before my fall I was one of the hardest physcial worker in my Dept. By the way I'm 52 any very young .

I think that is very sweet of you to bring this question up. it's a very good idea, and l have helped many elders use the computer, as well as CPR and First Aid..

Perhaps there are classes like this for their age bracket.
