I've always thought they were the cutest dogs ever and I'm thinking of getting one. Is there anything I should know breed particular?

Go to the AKC & READ THE BREED STANDARD!!!!
They are TERRIERS!!! So,strong,active,independent,....bred for CENTURIES to HUNT & face FORMIDABLE quarry IN-GROUND!!!
Need a firm hand,TRAINING,LOTZ of grooming(HAND-STRIPPED breed!!) & careful diet!

Yes get a wire haired terrier instead. Much more fun

There prone to cancer. My mother in law gets her Scotties from rescues and has been through 3 of them with cancer and they pass away. She now has her 4 one that is 6 she is so cute. Oh yeah they need to be on a diet, they will eat as much food as you give them. Don't give them to much food.

Be prepared to spend $$ at the groomer about every 2 months. Other than that, they are nice little companions.
