If you have a regular video camera, and it's not in MPEG or similar format, what you can do is to connect the line out from the camera or player to the Line in connector on your computer. Then, using a sound recording program such as Audacity (free) and then save it to an audio file. Audacity has plugins that will allow you to save it as an MP3 if you wish.

With Audacity, you can manipulate sound levels, add effects, remove noise, along with many other features.

Hope this helps,

depends on what file format you want it, and the quality. A simple, fool-proof way is to open sound recorder, and set the mic to the "wave" setting. start playing the video in windows media player and hit record. It is easy to make separate songs that way too.

Excellent Question!
