I think the Sun's 'Templegate' is about the best.

Someone else has mentioned the 2% Racing Syndicate in their answer. I have not joined their main service yet but I intend to do so this weekend.

I have been using their telephone service, the 2% Daily Racing Value line on 0906-407 1170 ans i've done really well. They give out no more than 2 bets a day and they don't drone on and on like some of the telephone tipster services.

The calls cost £1.50 per minute but that has proved to be good value for me and today's message lasted only about one and a half minutes.

You can read about their main service at www.2percentracing.com

I've heard some very good things about the main service as well, so if you are a member it would be useful to get some feedback.

I'd echo the advice to never bet more than you can afford as well.

i think the guy who tips for the daily star seems to know his stuff, he follows the horses from their maiden win through, you could always learn the form yourself, i do that and believe me , if you take your time then you almost always pick a 'place' if not a 'win'. Firstly, check the odds, unless you can work magic, don't assume that the favourite will win, it's never that simple and racing would be boring if that were the case. Check to see hoe the stable form is doing for your chosen horse, find out the trainer, if he /she appears on the top half of the leader board for having winners at that course then - ok. Then check the jockey, has he ridden the horse before - does he often ride for the trainer/owner - has he rode the course before, and where did he place? , is he consistant? if all yes, then - ok! Then look at the length of the race, if the horse you have chosen is used to racing that length then you are still fine, if it is in a longer race than it has ran before then just be careful, some excel at longer races, others, who storm into win at 7f donkey home at a mile and a half! then check the race history for the horse itself. see where it placed in the last few races and the length of the race, if it wins every time then you are backing a favourite and fingers crossed it rides to its expectations, if it shoots about between 4,th, 2nd, and 3rd then you could well be looking at shortish odds of 5-1, 4-1. if it has a race history of 5th, 4th and hasn't ran for sometime, chances are it's out to prove it's worth today and is probably worth an each way bet as it's likely to have sp's of 7-1 or 8-1. this is how i look at it anyway, hope it makes sense, after all i'm only a girl so what would i know. although if you use my formula and it works e mail and let me know. ps, don't bet on the irish racing as it's all a game to them and not a sport, mind you, fallon won't dare pull back so he's worth a flutter at the moment - he daren't not win (haha)

The bet collection are very good. Small outlay and simple 1 point each way bets with a very good return. All results are published unlike other tipsters. I am one very happy member. In the last copule of weeks I have had a 7/1, 15/2, 11/1,12/1 and 14/1 winners. Two national rate phone calls a day and a couple of minutes spent on the internet putting the bets on. They also offer a profit guarantee.

there is no such thing as a tipster. Newmarket have bent horse cleaners who are faild jockys, who put out tips, but the only person who wins is the bookmaker. better to bet two quid each way, a flutter. Never do a cert. there is no such thing. Horses are held back, people study the form. But, my dad and his dad has been doing this for 90 years....never lost, over the year always paid his pint and petrol. Secret is. Two quid each way. Never gamble more than you can afford to lose. And there is no such thing as a certainty. But, look at the toss of the head, and the long legs, fidgiting in the padock. Check out the owner, and the rider. Then, just put your hard earned cash on the beast, and wish.
