Pray for him. We all have our issues. He is just more visible because he is up front. Support and pray for him.

You're right about humans not being perfect. Your minister needs prayer and needs love and forgivness from his family and friends as well as his congregation. Remember, he still loves the Lord, it's just that he's having problems right now and needs some love and support. Even Jesus said "whoever is without sin, cast the first stone" Your minister is there for others, maybe others should be there for him. My pastor life before he was saved, was definately not a good one. In fact after I heard about how awful and mean he was, I was very cautious. But after knowing him a few years, I'm convince that God can change people from the inside out and make them brand new. Just pray for your minister.

Since you cannot know, and actually should not know any of the reasons behind his being on the outs with his family; this should not make a difference in your degree of respect for him. If he is a good minister and treats you and others in his congregation well; that is all that you have to be concerned with. Maybe the real story is that they are on the outs with him and did not want him to go into the ministry. It is difficult to preach God's love and messages in todays world, and must be even more difficult for him without the support of his earthly family. Even though he is a Man of God, he is only a human being with all of our strengths and weaknesses. Have a good night.

no I am not going to jump all over you.
do you really expect any man to be perfect?
if we look to the ministry to be perfect we are going to be disappointed.
even Paul said those thing i would not do i do.
i have to applaud your pastor, he had the guts to stand up and admit that he was not perfect.
most hide their fault until they are uncovered by others.
pray for your pastor, pray for his family, i know mine is not perfect why should his be?
he might have good reasons, and he reached out to his congregation.
you said he preached messages that you loved to hear so he must be inspired by God.
just one more thought, some pastors are the black sheep of the family because they believe in god.
and children of a lot of pastors are the worst sinners.
but that does not make the pastors bad, just human.

Your question brings many issues to ponder on. As a minister is human, the same as we are, he needs support. Perhaps prayer for his reconciliation with his family would be the better outlet versus feeling less for him. Hes vocation is not respected as it should be being that it is one of the most compassionate and humbling committments known to man. God bless him and may he find the answer as we all must to our quest for peace and love........

His immediate family or his relatives????????

You may stop to consider that the problems you heard from the spread of gossip may not be accurate or may not even be a result of his sin. If its really bothering you invite him over for a night to eat and sit and talk and find out what the truth is and pray for him. Dont just sit back and prejudge him based on gossip, thats the last thing anyone should do.

That's too bad. Keep in mind, however, that preachers are human just like you and me. They are not above having personal problems. Unless he has shared the intimate details with you, you really can't make any decisions based on this.

If it really bothers you, why don't you make an appointment to meet with him and discuss it in private. Maybe he can put your mind at ease.

First off his reasons may be very valid, it could be something he decided because of his faith, and really he should be the one you talk to, it may be none of your business, but if he is a good minister he will do what he can to help answer your question, and maybe your asking may help him mend his family.

buddy i lived with my pastor for a year and i saw all kinds of imperfections! the thing is this, you said it no one is perfect, the best way to be disappointed with someone is to have unrealistic expectations of them. your pastor is just human and who is to say GOD isn't working in his and his families life? do you know why they are on the outs? is it because he took a stand for what is GODLY? or is he just all fleshly? now that you know there is a problem it is your responsibility to pray for it. read Genesis 9:21-29

There's not much you can do but pray for him and his family. Don't let it get in the way of your relationship with God. If finding this out makes you want stop going to church, you're not there for the right reason. [no offense, just trying to be honest]

What's the cause of the conflict?
If the conflict is spiritual in nature, than there's certainly nothing wrong with it.
One of the pastors at my church has very little contact with his brother because his brother isn't a christian, and his brother gennerally doesn't want anything to do with him.
