If you can't protect yourself, it doesn't matter what amendment you like because you will not have the choice. Therefore it seems obvious that the second Amendment is the primary amendment.

Every last one of the amendments are important in different aspects.. the first 10 are important - known as our Bill of Rights and then the others are also important... as we progressed as a society we learned that we needed more and more rights so each one is a progressive right with the next.. you can't really pick one.. all are important.. how can you pick one over the other as being the most important.. I sure as heck ain't going to write 5 paragraph though.. good luck with your assignment

If you really understand what a "right" is, none of the amendments are "important".
All of the rights in the Constitution exist, with or without governments. Everyone on the planet has them. The difference is in which government observe them. Our Constitution did not create them, it merely recognizes them. That being the case, it wasn't really "important" that any of them be put into the Constitution. They would still exist.
The rights themselves are important, but the amendments are not. They exist. Period.

The 9th is the most important. It prevents anyone, including the Bush administration from infringing on our rights by using other rights outlined in the Constitution. In fact, I believe that is the greatest reason we have for impeaching Bush, he has blatantly violated the 9th amendment on several occasions and continues to do it!
sway_ii...it's funny how you mention that amendment, especially since you have in other answers been such a supporter of religion in government. Which by the way, would be a violation of the 9th amendment. When you force your religious beliefs on others it "denies and disparages" their freedom of religion.
Learn your Constitution people!!!!!!!!!

The first amendment. My right to freedom of religion. I cannot go on about it in 5 paragraphs, its simple. After this lifetime, I will continue on to be with my lord and savior, so I feel that it is more important for me to be able to worship as I choose than anything else.

Each of them is important in its own way but since the first grants the most freedoms I'll say that one.
