Why would it take one year to read the Bible?
It's taken me 46 years, and I still don't understand it all.

Yes.
The recorded versions of the Bible are about 72-75 hours long.
For a moderate reader 20 mins per day will easily get through the Bible in 1 year. I can leasurely read through the New testament in 4 months. The Old Testament takes about twice that long.
Try reading just one gospel then the rest of the New testament. Next time switch to another gospel. When you read the Old Testament, leave out Leviticus , Deuteronomy, Proverbs, Psalms, Job, Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, and 1&2 Chronicles.
Then each time you read through, pick just one of those and read them. It goes much faster. Some books will just bog you down.

no cuz its not really about reading it but about studying it. Abd learning who God is and what we are here for. What God and has gone through to give us life and for us to live. Yes u can read it if u want but the whole point is to study it, so that if a non-believer tries to stick u in ur own words or something u can get help from using the Bible. Yes not all the time u will need it, not all the time u should quote teh Bible but thats what its for.

Currently I am reading it thru for about the 4 or 5th time this calendar year. (P. S. I am on disability currently).

No, for the simple fact that there is a big difference between reading and studying. I try to study the bible.

Just started reading. I wudnt wana read it in a year. Because I wana keep on reading it and I'm so left behind. Shudf read it few years back. How bout ya??

It took me the entire summer when I was twelve years old
I decided it was a bunch of malarkey before I was even finished with all the begats. Too much like mythology to be real.
