I think it is now irrelevent as to why we went to war. We must look forward, finish what we started and bring our boys home as soon as possible.

I went to work in Saudi Arabia in 1980. Shortly after arriving there, I told my friends that the world was headed for a Muslim/ non-Muslim war. I believe this even more today. Many Americans stick their head in the sand and think that if we mind our own business, the Muslims will leave us alone. You have to live a Muslim country for a while to understand their way of thinking. If you're not a Muslim, then you're an infidel and it's perfectly OK to kill you. Don't believe for one minute that Muslims respect other religions, just look at the world news. We're in Iraq, not for oil, but to try to establish a friendly democratic Muslim country. I don't think it can be done, I don't like the war but understand the cause. I was in Saudi Arabia during desert storm and entertained many US soldiers. I fully support our troops. If politicians would let the generals run the war and they concentrate on running the country, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in today. When Harry Truman fired Douglas MacArthur, he created the Korean mess, let OPEC form, allowed the Viet Nam conflict to exist and a host of other problems we face today.
Today we get to pick the battlefield, here or there, I vote for there.
Remember the World Trade Center and always support our troops.

i do support the thousands of our friends, relatives and loved ones that have committed to serve our country and now must pay the piper. the reason for the war is not something i support. this country for decades has failed to realize that not all other countries in the world want to be like the U.S. yet we pressure them and work very hard at making others believe that if they are not a mirror of our society and norms, they are not satisfied. concerning the President, the Bush Jr. is paying for the sins of Bush Sr. and we are caught in the middle suffering and paying for the sins and actions of them both.

There is no reason why we are at war. Bush should have minded his own buisness and take care of our country rather then be worried about another country. I do not support the war. there is no use for it why should innocent soilders get killed because of Bush? they shouldn't.

It is not OIL like so many uninformed people believe./
the US doesnt even get oil from Iraq. that goes to europe.
People who say its over oil have are ignorant of the facts or just dont care about the facts.
Unfortunately, this is the type of question always posed by those who do not understand what is really going on.
They do not understand that those who truly follow islam want the world to convert or die. they use every excuse they can think of to murder innocent people. If you know anything of islam, one of the things muslims do is follow the example of their prophet.
who made treaties with non belivers and then when the opportunity presented itself he killed them. Moslems believe that it is okay to lie to non belivers in order to promote their religion and that they are not obligated by treaties or contracts with non believers. You cannot trust them, they want to kill you.
even if you are an atheist, they want to kill you.
Grow up the world it not fair, it will never be fair. You will only survive if you understand who really threatens your existence.

Never supported it, but since the shrub went ahead and started it we're stuck in a catch 22. Being there keeps all out internal war from breaking out but, at the same time, it just makes things continualy worse. There is no good choice. People will die if we leave, people will die if we stay.
Thanks Bushy.

Alqueda started the war ten years ago when they bombed the world trade center the first time. and when they blew up the USS cole
If we do nothing, they will continue to attack us here.
We are simply keeping them busy somewhere else. Yes they are here too, but they are using their rssources to support their brothers oversees and to con people to protest bush and our military
Keep in mind we can't tell them our strategy
You don't tell the enemy your plans

why must we all think of our greed and our losses in iraq.
10x more iraqi ppl dies in this war INCLUDING THOSE INNOCENT CHILDREN,
the us only lost these grown up soliders, that like abusing random civilians.
R.I.P innocent ppl. not soliders, who took many lives.
the world is heading to get rid of muslims, 9/11 was a smoke screen that led ppl to bielive our enemies were muslims.and we bielive the media that it was the muslims that did 9/11. cmon planes cannot take down to huge towers, there is more than meets the eye. the us govt have been w8ting for 9/11, and its here. look closely at the results.
ignorant amerikans cannot get that.
9/11 is our excuse to go to the middle east and slaughter muslims.
i see amerikans, when they hear the wurd arab, terrorist comes to mind.
what about to bloods, the crips, the kkk? are all white ppl now evl? i noe the KKK were. why don u go slaughter them!
