Business casual

Bill Gates wearing Business casualBusiness casual, also known as smart casual, is a popular dress code that emerged in white-collar workplaces in Western countries in the 1990s. Many information technology businesses in Silicon Valley were early adopters of this style of dress. In contrast to business formal wear (suits and neckties, sometimes called international standard business attire), business casual wear has no generally accepted definition; its interpretation differs widely between organizations and is often a cause of confusion.
The job search engine Monster.com offers this definition: "In general, business casual means dressing professionally, looking relaxed yet neat and pulled together." A more pragmatic definition is that business casual dress is a middle ground between business formal wear and street wear. Examples of apparel combinations that are considered appropriate for wearing to work by some organizations that consider themselves to be using a business-casual dress code are:
for women: capris/long shorts are acceptable as casual dress and regular dress if they are "tailored" and of a dress pant material (usually not denim or heavy cotton)or a tennis shirt and trousers
for men, a collared shirt (perhaps a tennis shirt instead of a dress shirt) and cotton trousers (such as khakis), shoes (such as loafers and dress sandals) without socks is generally acceptable
Neckties are generally not part of business casual dress unless worn in a very non-conservative way. The acceptability of jeans is variable and many organizations frown upon them as too casual, but will accept men who wear jeans with a sportcoat.

Neatly pressed khaki pants are a safe choice.
A long-sleeved shirt is considered more formal than a short sleeve golf shirt. If you aren't sure what is more appropriate, keep in mind it is better to overdress than underdress.
Ties typically aren't needed for business casual events. If it is likely to be a more formal event, it wouldn't hurt to wear a conservative tie and just remove it if you arrive and most men aren't wearing one.
Wear leather shoes and dark socks that pull up over the calf. Athletic shoes, hiking boots and sandals are not appropriate (even in the summer). Your belt should match your shoes.
Jewelry should be minimal - a conservative watch and wedding rings are okay. Although more men are wearing earrings these days, remove them and any other piercings.
Do not bring a backpack.

Think of meshing your work wardrobe with your Saturday night out with the girls wardrobe. So this means because it's work.. no jeans.. short skirts... thong sandles... spaghettie straps.. sweat pants... clothes with rips or holes or stains... not showing too much cleavage... nothing that is "see through".. For most guys this means Dress or nice looking pants (no jeans!!!) and a button down short- wether short or long sleeve. For girls.. i lways think of like soemthing you'd wear to church.. or to a non-black tie wedding... a skirt.. just as long as it's not too short... a nice top... or black pants and heels.. no sneakers or grungy shoes... Just think- is it something you'd be able to wear to work?

For her: Button down shirts, sweater gadgets, stylish tops, khakis, knee length or particularly longer skirts, black or army blue gown pants. stay away from cleavage, shoulders, and exhibiting your abdomen. For him: Button down shirts, khakis, black or army blue gown pants. there is fairly no longer as many ideas open for adult men and Buisness casual as there is for women. Buisness casual does no longer advise you may gown like your parent. look on the dressier outfits at previous army and the hollow. once you're lady, check out Ann Taylor Loft...they have have been given some great products.

It means you look nice and professional, but not a suit. For a woman, it means a skirt and blouse, a dress, or slacks and a blouse. Sweaters are okay, tank tops aren't. If you would wear it to a bar or club, it isn't okay. If you would wear it to church, it is okay.

Khaki pants and a nice shirt, or for women, a skirt, low heels, and a nice blouse. No ties, no excessively high heels.
