Yes, God exists. Keep going to church, read your Bible, pray and ask for more faith and God will make you stronger and more sure.

Just because someone doesn't go to church, it doesn't mean he doesn't believe in God. And on the other hand, just because a person goes to church or reads the Bible, it doesn't necessarily make you a follower of Jesus's teachings. I know when I was a child and teen, I was forced to go to church and I hated it because it didn't have any personal meaning to me, it was all about ritual and hearing people say one thing while the next day they did another. It was such superficial B.S. However, last year at the age of 34 I finally "met" a church that had a loving, caring atmosphere that didn't try to cram anything down my throat, that just spread love when I was there. For me it was like a light came on, and the love came in. I think the more you think about if you're doing the right thing and will God be angry with you and feeling guilty about not going to church and will I go to hell, etc., the more you will be confused and either guilted or shamed into attending church and saying you are a Christian. God is love.... and when you can come to church and hear "I'm so glad you're here" rather than, "Why haven't you been here?", you can truly experience God's love.

it is shame that smart people like you, say there is no God, people can't you see, hear or feel...
Some one said ok, prove it.. I will do..
You merely use your senses to determine that you can see, hear, feel, smell, taste and you have emotions as well. All of this is a part of your existence. But this is not how we perceive God in Islam. We can look to the things that He has created and the way that He cares for things and sustains us, to know that there is no doubt of His existence.
Think about this the next time that you are looking up at the moon or the stars on a clear night; could you drop a drinking glass on the sidewalk and expect that it would hit the ground and on impact it would not shatter, but it would divide up into little small drinking glasses, with iced tea in them? Of course not.
And then consider if a tornado came through a junkyard and tore through the old cars; would it leave behind a nice new Mercedes with the engine running and no parts left around? Naturally not.
Can a fast food restaurant operate itself without any people there? That's crazy for anyone to even think about.
After considering all of the above, how could we look to the universe above us through a telescope or observe the molecules in a microscope and then think that all of this came about as a result of a "big bang" or some "accident?"

The people who believe there is a god, I am afraid to say you are either uneducated or have closed minds. and what I mean by uneducated is not that you understand your 3 r's, but that you have no logical or scientific understanding of everything around you.
You take everything for granted without applying any scientifiic logical explanation for its existence. dont get me wrong that dont make you a bad or lazy person, it is just way you have been conditioned in other words the way your life has panned out. There are so many contradictions about religion regarding its theory about life and the morals around us, that in my opinion if you are a believer then you must have a selfish streak and could not give a damn about the suffering your so god allows to go on in the world.
I know that god and the bible is mans invention to explain our existence and to use as a tool to control the way we think and live our lives. but its history is only a snapshot of the evolution of life itself.
I could go on and on debating this subject and contradicting anything you call evidence for the existence of god. Answer me this, christianity started 2000 years ago in an area which at that time was more advanced than other parts of the world. Why is it that the rest of the world population that lived at that time and were never discovered for many centuries, ever here about this wonderful God, why was christianity confined to the more civilised cultures.
I will give you clue to my question above. The civilised known world such as the Roman, Greek & Egyptions were pagans and believed in many gods for all types natural phenomenas such as fire, wind, water, heavanly bodies this was a throw back to an earlier culture of communial living and sharing, but as man started to settle and build towns and farm and own property, there eventually became an heirarchy within these new cultures, and because of this new way of living, religious ideas came to the fore to give creedence to new the rich and powerful leaders. and when christianity came along it was embraced by the Romans to use as a political weapon to conquer new peoples. and wherever they conquered they would establish a satallite model of their society and establish an heirarchy in these lands who would then convert everyone to christianity which was under the control of the Roman Pope.
You see religion of all sorts from paganism to hinduism is mans invention to explain the world around him. Myths and belives have evolved alongside the evolution of mankind.
I would say to people who vehemently believe in God and the creation theory, read a lot more, ask questions about everything around you. Look for answers, why are there all them dead planets out there, whats the point of that, Why did god allow humans to develop and most animals to stay as they are, why do humans look different from each other and why do we have different blood groups and DNA if were all descended from Adam & Eve.
The Bible has some good stories to tell and Hollywood as made some cracking films.

Yes, without a doubt. I can't imagine how I would have gotten through stuff in my life if I hadn't had God to help me through it. I've seen it with other people too, who've had worse struggles than I had. Some people want to blame God for all the bad things that happen, but I don't see it that way. Every bad experience is an opportunity for growth, learning or becoming stronger in Faith. I know that before I turned my life over to God, I felt more hopeless. I don't know how your dad feels or why he doesn't go to church, pray or read the Bible, but I know for me, it's like food for my soul. It stregthens my relationship with God, which makes me stronger, and better able to handle my struggles in life.

It's an important question.
Suppose Christianity could be proven beyond any doubt, that it gives us the keys to eternal life and bliss. Nothing could be as important. But suppose it's false.
Suppose we are temporary, that nothing is or can be made eternal, and most of all, that this one life is the only one anyone will ever have. The most important thing any misbeliever could have is the proof that their faith is groundless, and that the empty investment in ineffective prayer, the hours squandered pursuing otherworldly rewards that will never be delivered, the forsaking of harmless pleasures, the embrace of harmful actions, like bombing abortion clinics and flying planes into skyscrapers, the billions spent on churches, religious pilgrimages, religious books, music, videos, all wasted when instead, it could have been spent materially improving everyone's one life to live.
Find out for yourself.

Haven't you ever seen the Norman Rockwell painting where the kids are going off to church with Mom while Dad is sitting in his bathrobe reading the Sunday newspaper? Yes, there is a God, and you are supposed to wonder... "Blessed are the poor in spirit..."
You know there's SOMETHING beyond yourself and Dad.... and you choose to search it out.
That's called a Leap of Faith. That's all it takes to begin.
Your Dad chooses to believe too. Are you sure he doesn't pray?
People easily pray when they're scared, but rarely pray when they're most blessed, just to say thanks. Ask your Dad, or ask your heavenly Father. Ask both. Keep wondering, never lower yourself to the level of atheists who assume they know better than millions of people. They have STOPPED wondering and only judge others.

I grew up in the same situation with a christian Mum but a Dad that wasn't interested. You need to read the bible for yourself and get your own faith. I did this myself and found that we do have a magnificent, holy God who is real and as close as the next breath you take.
God promises in His word that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Pray and seek God yourself and you will find Him if you seek Him with your whole heart.
It is certainly the most worthwhile thing I have ever done and I would encourage you not to look to other people for your faith but to look to Jesus on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.

It doesnt make you undesirable in case you dont beleive. the rustic became equipped on non secular ideals yet over years God has been bumped off by using society. we've lots in the way of scientific theory that still eliminates God from any equation of turning out to be the international or guy for that rely. Now i think of in case you beleive it comes out of your loved ones and positively no the place else. No in case you dont beleive and there's a god im specific he knows. Now God is declared to be forgiving and merciful so dont subject too lots approximately it.

I'm also a Christian, and I do believe there's a God. I think it is up to each individual to decide what religion they're gonna commit to. So, in the case of your dad, I believe it is up to him to decide if he's gonna believe in God or not. Of course you can reach out to him and tell him about your religion and how it's gonna help him go through his life. However, with regards to what religion he finally choose to hold on to, it is totally up to him. You can't blame it upon him or upon yourself if he doesn't end up being a Christian. Before you reach out to him, it is your responsibility to reach out to yourself, so you can stop questioning if God really exists. If you want, you can go to church more often, read the Bible, or consult a priest or someone from church, and hopefully that'll help you find your path. I'm no priest, but that's what I believe. Hope you and your dad find what you guys really believe in.
