I am just curious what everyone thinks. For example if you say something judgmental, and someone tells you to get over yourself or that you are being judgmental then they are also judgmental; and by me saying that they are judgmental then I am again being judgmental and so on and so on. I am just wondering if perhaps it is in human nature to be judgmental and if there is any way to stop being so.

To make judgments is a necessary part of life. You have to make decisions all the time and to make decisions you have to make judgments. What shirt should I wear today? Why? What church should I go to? Why? Who should I hang out with? Why?

You have to make judgments to function. However, you can strive to be lenient when it comes to people.

I think it's human nature to be judgemental... I mean by the way you describe it, it almost seems impossible not to be, considering I am being judgemental of other people being judgemental etc. etc. I think there is a point where people judge others too quickly and too often. You don't know what another person goes through unless you are THAT person, everyone is different, every situation is different. I am not going to look down at someone if they did something I do not personally believe in. They are just as good of a person as I am, they are doing what they believe is right. Judging people sucks!

Yes, everybody is judgmental. Judging seems to have gotten a bad rap. If people didn't judge anything, they'd just be going through life doing nothing. If you are going to make any decisions about anything in life, you have to do some judging. It's only wrong to make judgments that are baseless, IMO.

Some more so than others. I try not to be, but you're right, when you see someone else judging someone, it's so easy to judge that person for being judgmental. I guess it is human nature, but we should try to put ourselves in the other person's shoes and try to understand why they feel the way they do.

it is perhaps human nature.
but does not mean its right.
by telling the facts it is not "judging"
but stating an opinion that can possibly be hurtfull or in anyway shape or form not helpfull to the conversation or to the person would be considered "judging"

i see judging as stating your opiinion on somone else (or somthing) that *** if it is fact.

judging-to form a judgment or opinion of; decide upon critically:

Of course we're all judgemental. The issue is what are you judging others about? It is human nature because we live in groups we have to establish boundaries and proper behavior in order to get along. We do that by passing judgements. What will we allow and what won't we allow?

Yes. Consequently, that would also make the accuser a hypocrite as well.

Ignore these types. They come a dime a dozen up here. They are not worthy of the sacred almonds of the Nut Goddess.

Yes, we are. The best way to stop is to listen and weigh what you are hearing, without prejudging it. If that sounds hard, it's because it's almost impossible. Everything we hear or read or see goes through the filters of our experiences. Good that you realize it, try not to be judgemental and you will be above most of us.
