1st) How come jews believe that Elijah will return and announce the comming of the Messiah? Is that why jews don't believe that jesus was a Messiah, bc Elijah didn't announce it? (notice i didn't say "the messiah" because other people have been called messiah's by the jews ex. cyrus the great, bar kokhba... ) I couldn't help notice this while i saw a place for Elijah (maybe it was a cup of wine dedicated to him) during the Seder at a dinner table once and i became curious .

2nd question.... why do the christians not call God yahweh?(yhwh) That part of the jewish bible is also in the christian old testiment, yet christians do not call him that.

3rd question... i couldn't help notice that the ten commandments from the jewish bible is different from the christians. I understand that there are many different versions of bibles and many more than 10 commandments, but why are the 10 main ones different?? Did christians change it?

i enjoy studying different religions

Firstly, Jesus is not the messiah, because the messiah was supposed to have united the Jewish people, and repelled the invaders of Israel (the Romans). Which he clearly did not do according to the prophesy.

Secondly, Yahweh is a mistranslation. Those same letters YHWH when converted into Hebrew also spell out "Jehovah". As for why Christians do or dont do things youre asking the wrong Jew. Christians largely confuse me, as I see many inconsistencies in their faith, which is probably due to so many mistranslations of the Torah, or Old Testament.

Thirdly, you may be confusing the 10 commandments with the Noahide Laws. The Commandments are the same, but again, it is a matter of mistranslation, and then the attempt of people to hold power and fear over other people.

These are the Hebrew 10 Commandments which I will just translate into English. By the way the original term for these is called Aseret Ha'dibrot, which means the 10 STATEMENTS...NOT the 10 Commandments:

1. I am the Lord, your God
2.You shall have no other God before me, you shall not make for yourself a graven image.
3. You shall not swear falsely by the name of the eternal one, your God.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy.
5. Honor your Mother and Father
6. You shall not murder
7. You shall not commit adultery
8. You shall not steal
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
10. You shall not covet.
