actually nothing. you can latch on to 1,000,000 volts and not be harmed if you don't have enough amperage to hurt you. A stun gun has very little amperage. To kill someone you need 2 amps or more, but with 2 amps you need to sustain current through the body for a few minutes to effectively do real damage. 15 amps is typical current in a house circuit. if you grab hold of that and don't kick a breaker that 110 vac circuit will kill you. but a stun gun draws it's voltage and amperage from a 9 volt battery and steps up the voltage with a series of transformers. a 9 volt can't hold a killing charge so I'm fairly certain you can't be killed by a stun gun even though it can temprarily disable you long enough to give the cop time to get cuffs on you.

Seeing as how i'm searching for an answer on this topic, and i see no stun guns can't kill, and yes they can if in force....So let me ask this....I got shot by 7 officers simultaneously for at least 30 seconds straight and that was when the first few figured out it wasn't stopping me and wasted their first full cartridges on me, since they carry 2 fully charged cartridges per officer, they all 7 used both cartridges, as well as 2 bottles of pepper spray...Anywho, the question is could i have nerve damage? I lose feeling in the full left side of my body from time to time, but it comes back, and I also work with pizza and pick up metal screens that are heated at 490 degrees, i get the burns and scars but never feel the pain, besides on lucky days I can actually feel my fingertips...Any answers?

Basically it makes them seizure. Occasonally death results from stun gun/taser attacks. Obviously this is a weapon of last resort.
Stun guns / tasers have been occasionally used as offensive weapons. I do not know if there are any recorded stun gun muggings, but it seems at least theoretically possible.
Stun guns / tasers may be restricted by law in your state. Check local laws.

It will hurt like you know what. It is not the volts that kill, but the amps. Some stun guns carry as much as 500,000 volts.

My question is: Why do you need that kind of info for?
You young kids really worry me with the kinds of questions you ask, but if you want to know it will F^*#^*+ kill someone.
