So I told this girl, a friend, that I've liked for over three years, that I really liked her today. I asked her to a concert and she said yes, but then had to back out because of family reasons. She has been on my mind to a point where it might be unhealthy.
I told her everything today and, although she was sweet about it, she doesn't want to have a relationship right now. She said it wasn't because of me, but because she said that she doesn't fully know who she is right now.
I understand what's she saying, but it still hurts. It hurts to a point where I don't feel like doing anything. She is so perfect and it's killing me that I can't be with her...
I don't know what to do...
How do I get past this??

for you, all i can say is that time is the healer. i would also like to say that i am impressed that you took the answer in the most decent way . and just the fact that you kept your love for a girl for more than three long years shows that you are genuine .
any girl would be proud to be your better half. trust me not alot of people can do what you did.

There is two things. If she really means that much you could wait till she is ready. Sometimes girls are fickle and they change their minds like they change their clothes. Or you could try to allow time to heal you and when you are healed you will beable to meet that special someone. Time heals the broken heart. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow but someday you will wake up with a heart that can learn to love again. I know it's hard to deal with it when it's a fresh wound. I know because I am healing too.

I'm sorry she hurt you...when you have a close friend and you want to take it up a notch other than just friends. You take a chance that the other wont feel the same way. It changes everything with the friendship.

You dont get past it. You just have to move on. It takes a lot of time to heal a broken heart and scares will remain even after all the pain is gone.

If you can, find another love interest, you'll forget her. But don't play the game where the new person is judged against the old love. You told her how you feel, she isn't ready, that's your answer. Stop hoping for something that is unlikely to happen.

a broken heart is like a bad cold, there is no cure, you just have to take stuff to make yourself feel better until you get over it

She's saying (in a nice way) that she doesn't like you like that. Sounds like you deserve someone who's crazy about you like you are about them... those are the good relationships. Forget her
