Can we not accept that although we have minor differences in our Bibles, and our denominations that we share the same God, the same Christ, and the same hope? I will admit that I have wasted time too in this dispute and meant no harm. I was truly trying to explain my position and got carried away.

Christians suffer from too much emphasis on preaching, and not enough on the example they present to others.

Anyone can tell others what to do. Only the truly faithful will lead by example alone.

If you don't walk the walk, why expect others to do what you do not?

And that applies to the plural "you", not the singular.

Dear Debra,

I think a whole lot of the arguing has to do with insecurity on the part of people who continue to do what they've always done without really examining why they believe what they believe.

Before I started reading the Bible on a regular basis I used to say "... because I said so" or "Just because" about all kinds of subjects. But I don't any more.

This note is for Phoenix (sp?). Mormons and JWs are not Christians although they believe some aspects of Christianity. This doesn't mean they are not good people but Christian means a person who accepts Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior. Mormons and JWs don't do that. I have lots of JW relatives and some Mormon friends and they are nice people.

A church preference should be a purely personal issue. It should be based on where you feel most welcomed and the beliefs and practices are generally the same as your personal beliefs.

I will contend though that certain denominations, if they should be called that, fall to far away from mainstream Christianity to be readily accepted. These include Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jesus instituted the Church, no longer church homes. "it rather is to Peter that he says: 'you're Peter, and upon this rock i'm going to construct my Church' [Matt. sixteen:18]. the place Peter is, there is the Church. And the place the Church, no demise is there, yet existence eternal" (On Twelve Psalms 40:30 [A.D. 394]). st. Ambrose Is it charitable to declare that people who've separated themselves from the Church are no longer from now on in communion with what the Church teaches and delivers? previous Church Councils have declared this. they have no valid clergymen, deacons, or bishops, no valid eucharist, etc...Many gatherings are no longer any diverse than at stay overall performance arenas. that's authentic christianity? in the event that they do no longer partake interior the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and consume the Euchatist, have they have been given existence in them? (Jn 6:fifty 3) If that's the Protestant church is the authentic church and there can purely be one, then the 1st 1500 years of the Catholic church have been purely a sham, that incorporates the corporate of the Church by ability of Jesus Christ himself.

That is why there are so many different denominations. People didn't agree on how a rite should be done, or how a verse was to be interpreted. It will never change. Get used to it.

Exactly! But it's natural to want to defend what you believe when others don't understand. A friend of mine once said something that made me think. She said if we can't get along here, what are people going to do when we're in Heaven. There will be no fighting over these things there.

Well, because it is a basic tenant of Christian belief that there is only 1 way to heaven we argue about every little thing.
The question of how one gains salvation is the only point worth fighting over.

Because not everyone agrees that we are saved by Grace through Jesus Christ plus nothing else , Biggest argument is Law verses Grace ,

Disputing over thing can be valuable; however 'we' often focus on disputing with others, rather than 'disputing' over the things that cause us to be separated from each other and God.
