Limewire sucks! I used to use Limewire and it's a joke to using Torrent webites. Just download the tracker 1st. I use Utorrent then 2nd go to a good website for downloads (any torrent site) and and there you have it. You can even see past user ratings and if they had any problems with it. You can even get whole television season at a time. sure it takes up like 1 gig but no commercials. I'm feeling generous today with my info. Good luck.

I don't use Limewire or any other program like it because they're dangerous for your computer- I have friends with Limewire and they get a lot of viruses also. If you want to keep your computer clean and running well, not to mention safe, don't use programs like that and avoid downloading anything.

No. I hear about that happening to lots of people. In the long run, was your extra bother worth more than 13 cents per track? You could download from places like www.emusic.com for 25 cents/track and be safe. I read on this answers forum than one boy got nine friends together --- formed a sort of private club -- to share the cost, because you can burn their mp3 files to disc and share them. When you pay by the year, you get a free 512 Mbyte mp3 player. The one I received is the Creative MuVo --- sells in the $40-$50 bracket, so that cuts your "effective" cost per year down to 13 cents/track. Ten people in a club would bring that down to 1.3 cents/track. With Limewire, you are really dealing from one individual to another. That leaves you wide open for viruses and worms.

You're getting viruses because you don't understand file extension and what file types do what. The program isn't the problem...it's the user.

Viruses are a known risk with any P2P software. Not much you can do about it except keep your anti-virus software active and updated.
