I wouldn't stress about it - your muscles will grow more if you work them, even if you are young.

However I think that now is more of a time you should be learning about your environment than focussing on yourself.

On the other hand, it never hurts to develop some good habits and good health is a nice thing to have.

Just don't go overboard on the working out thing and wind up with a terrible self-focussed mind set.

Get a good trainer if your going into the weight room. And be careful, while the gurus of physiology are relaxing their former positions on this subject, it is, LIKE ALL EXERCISE AND DIET PROGRAMS, really what works for you.

If you cannot aford a trainer, do bodyweight only exercises like pullups, pushups, situps, walking lunges for a couple of months before you slap 405 in the squat rack.

I am the trainer of a national champion teen bodybuilder and the two time teen girls fitness champion.

Untrue. It used to be that even younger children would carry feed, load bales of hay and everything else. There was never any evidence that heavy lifting and hard work made the farm kids any weaker as adults than the city kids. In fact, they usually ended up being more healthy.

So anyone who tells you that you shouldn't be pumping iron because it will hurt you doesn't have any facts to back up their claim.

you can work out anytime. Try a sport of some kind. You've still got lots of growing to get through though. Good Luck!

You shouldnt really be doing weight lifting though body weight exercises are good like pushups and pullups also situps, crunches, mountain climbers, running a mile or two a couple times a week.

You shouldn't be working out, you should be running, playing sports, and being active and enjoying it. "Working out" as the name suggests is hard work. You should be having fun at this age.
