"this is she" is the correct grammar, but a lot of people do say when asked this, "Speaking"

For an English learner (if that's who you are), then I can see how it poses a problem. Yes, English is not an easy language. I admire people like you for taking the time to learn the right way.
This is she is correct.
But, the caller must identify first. Like this: "......This is John Smith from Acme Screw company calling. May I speak to Jane Bigelow please?" Jane says: ".......Yes, speaking. How may I help?........" Or, "She is in a meeting. May I take a message........."John: "The purpose of my call is........"
Or, John leaves a message.
and so on and so forth...........
Being polite will work wonders. It is also the right thing to do - even if it is not a business call.

Not me, When they call asking for me with my whole name, I'm not sure I want to speak with them, I ask then Who's calling, And Most likely tell them they have the wrong number, :)

I am a man, and after having some guy call my number almost every night for two weeks straight, asking for jennifer, I got fed up. Every time I told him that he had the wrong number he didn't believe me. Finally one night he called, demanding I put her on the phone. I told him we had "just finished up" and she was taking a shower. He started yelling into the phone and never called back.

This is she is correct because of the verb is.
Using IS means that the subject of the sentence is the same as the 'this' - the subject is always in the nomanitve case, which, for female third person, is she.
Her is used for objects of sentences - with her, to her, for her...
you wouldn't say with she, to she, or for she, (unless it's - for she is a jolly good fellow!)

Neither. It is most correct to say- "Speaking" but it is always better to ask who is calling before you identify yourself- "May I ask who is calling?"

I say "This is she", which is correct. It's amazing how many people don't understand it when I say it!

Me says:
I am so sexy if I became two people and could speak in third person to myself in a physically correct manner after shagging myself I'd say "this is he" to you, but since I'm loving myself right now leave me a message after the screaming orgasm. AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOD YESSSSS!
and that's how it goes.
