Just recently I visited Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I noticed that a lot of the people from the Jewish faith have been dressed in "religious garb". The men have been wearing their yamicas (spelling?) and the women have been wearing either two piece black dresses, or something really similar.

I remember meeting a Jewish girl, but she wasn't dressed like that, so I'm confused. Is there some sort of Jewish holiday going on that they are dressing like that?

I thought it was only during Hannukah that they dressed up.

If someone can answer it, it would be really appreciated! Thanks ahead of time.

Recently, they celebrated the "Ten Days of Awe," which include Rosh HaShanna, and Yom Kippur. This past week, they celebrated Sukkot, which is the Feast of Tabernacles.

Rosh HaShanna occurred on September 24, and Yom Kippur was on October 2. Sukkot began October 6th, and continued throughout the following week. Today is called Simchat Torah.

It was probably a day when a group of Chabad was there. Chabad and other orthodox sects dress nicely all the time. The Reform and Conservative Jews tend to only dress up for synagogue.
