The word “meek” in the Scriptures refers to those who are gentle, kind, mild-tempered but with strength of steel. It was a word used of a wild beast that was tamed but still powerful.
Vine’s dictionary of Greek words defines meek: “It is an inwrought grace of the soul; and the exercises of it are first and chiefly towards God. It is that temper of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting.” The meek do not add to, subtract from, water down, or twist God’s Word—as some do today to accommodate their immoralities.—Deuteronomy 4:2; 2 Peter 3:16; Revelation 22:18, 19.
“Moses was by far the meekest of all the men who were upon the surface of the ground.” (Numbers 12:3) But was he weak? He appeared before mighty Pharaoh of Egypt and demanded that he let the enslaved Hebrews go. Pharaoh was adamant, his answer no! But Moses, un-intimidated, kept returning, announcing the plagues to come upon the Egyptians. (Exodus, chapters 7–11) Meek, yes; but weak? Hardly!

Well, I see it as everyone will wind up killing everyone else, and the only people left are the ones who hid, or ran from the fight. Exactly, the people without spirit or backbone. Funny thing is: consider the Crusades. How meek were they when they went to Israel? They killed everyone who wasnt Xtian. Do they now interpret it as there is nothing in the world that is so important that they would die for ? Or fight to defend it? The Xtian religion is so full or inconsistencies, you would think that someone would have gone "hey, this is a complete contradiction!" If you dont ask the questions, then how enlightened are you? Truly? I will now quote the Sex Pistols: "Blind acceptance is a sign, of stupid fools who stand in line" Good question...

It means the strong and the bold will wipe each other out trying to prove who is the strogest and the boldest and then the meek will inherit the Earth.

The meek shall inherit nothing.
Stuff like this is the reason why Capitalism and Christianity go hand in hand.
Capitalists couldn't have found a better religion.
It also offers up words like "Jealousy", "Envy" and "Responsibility" - and a whole host of words that allows the rich to moralise at poor people and allows them to maintain the status quo and allow the gap to just get wider and wider...

The blessing below are part of faith..........they have nothing to do with you strength.....The meek man could lift a mountain, what these are referring to is the person that help the starving man or women or child...........The person or persons that cares and pray each day........No I think that the Lord will take good care of his people............
The Beatitudes
1Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2and he began to teach them saying:
3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

because God loves us, mercy and kindness and compassion are for all who side with God. Never mind those who claim to be religious and are not warm and kind; They are still growing and learning or need reminders. As Shakespeare said: "To err is human, to forgive...divine!"
It reminds me of the poem
".....If you keep your mind when all those around you have lost theirs, you'll be a man my son...." People at war just eliminate each other, a lot of them don't survive. People who don't bother to fight silly war don't worry, carry on in peace. Share the love, peace to you!

The strong who will not learn to follow God's laws will be done away with.
The meek in this case are those who open their hearts and minds to those willing to teach them. Instead of chasing away the love that knocks on your door seeking "the meek".
God sends us to find those that Jesus called sheep.

This is for every religious question here in Yahoo Answers!
Why do you persist?
Religion does nothing but divide humanity.
It this what you want? To divide human beings?
If religion is so wonderful, any religion, why don't you find a
way to unite all human beings?
What the hell or heaven is wrong with souls who embrace
some raging religion and hate others because they don't believe
what you do?
I am not insulting anyone who believes they are religious.
I just want to know why religion of any sort is so cold, so
selfish, so angry!
Every soul who is on this planet is trying to do the best
they can. Every soul who is on this planet wants to live,
to love, and to be safe!
If the god you believe in is so wonderful why don't you show
the rest of us the truth of it?
