I have a mind machine that puts me in a Alpha-Theta combo.

The ELF frequencies the brain uses to communicate can be manipluated beforehand.

That along with affirmations and constant reminders that I am aware help.
Constantly tell yourself throughout the day that this is not a dream(pretty ironic huh)

Check your watch from time to time to make sure it is accurate.

I have indeed practiced lucid dreaming before. I wrote down my intentions as per instructed.

Also having a dream journal that you write in immediately upon waking up helps you to become more aware of this state of being, which in turn helps you to realize in the future when you are dreaming.

I had better success for some reason when I was in my teens. I achieved the state of dream recognition and even flew which is one of the most proficient things one can do when dreaming.

Finally, I have, and still do, go back to sleep when I have had a dream that I did not like the outcome and controlled things to change. This is also another great technique that helps put you in a state of lucid dreaming.

I don't know if you're meaning methods when you speak of techniques. The easiest way for me to ld is when I get up earlier in the morning then go back to bed a little while later. This is the Wake Back to Bed or WBTB method. I do this while repeating to myself that I'm dreaming which is known as Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream or MILD method. I succeeded once (came close a few times) using the Wake initiated Lucid Dream or WILD method. If you haven't done this, you've got to attempt it occasionally. You get to see your dream form, and you'll know it. You basically trick your brain into thinking you're asleep. You experience sleep paralysis which has scared many people that didn't know what was going on. I usually see colorful shapes; other people hear sounds even voices.

I do keep a dream journal and do reality checks often. I can't ld everytime I want. I usually only succeed twice a week, and I've been working on it over six months. Have fun.

Yes, but not out of choice... I'm on medication that causes me to lucid dream... It's soo weird... I used to when I was little, I'd go into a meditative state.

I have before. Just before sleep I give myself a reminder to dream lucidly and of course keep a notebook by the bed to record the dream. These things have helped focus me on the dream.

There are no "practices". I just go to sleep and am lucid during my dreams. It has to do with brain chemistry during sleep. Most people can't do it.
