the actual conversations my boyfriend and i have lately are few and far between. we'll bring something up stumble around the subject not really talk about it, then never bring it up again. he says he wants to get closer to me (we've been intimate for awhile), but when ever i try to talk to him about anything he shuts down. but If he brings up a subject he won't give it up until he gets an answer. whats going on here, is it possible he's hiding something from me?

Most probably he's going through some problems or he's having a hard time to tell you something. But mostly it could be that he is feeling a bit uneasy about a few things, maybe influenced by his peers and he wants to get it clear before persuing anything at the moment. If he's playing hard to get, get it back to him BUT subtly so that you'll not lose him, provided that he still wants you.

Are the subjects like: Do you still love me? or How much do you love me? or Me me me me me?
Self esteem problems turn off my conversation abilities.
If not, I thik he's bored of you or he suddenly figured out he's not really that in love with you, or he's having doubts. He might not necessarily cheating on you but it would be good to check up on him a little. I stress little.
