You may be referring to the major song the Koreans have long loved called "Arirang." It is a cultural farming song that was considered the unofficial national anthem and just about the only one that in which soldiers are familiar.

Because of the differences in pronounciation, we soldiers called it "Adidong" because of the problems Koreans have with Rs.
