my last memory of my dad was at christmas
he had his santa hat on as he sat in his wheelchair
and i smile every time i think of him
and this is what is going to get me through
we have to remember people with a smile
how much they meant to us .. the beautiful memories they gave to us
go somewhere meaningful to you , where you will feel their presence even in memory
make them proud of you and how you can still smile and live your life fully
and much love to you xx

i work as a merchant marine, the last several christmases ive spent at sea, on a ship, with about twenty guys that Ive mostly just met and known for a month or two. Some ships have little parties, usually one or two people pass out gifts and stuff. Its pretty sad really, but a little party is better than nothing when you are away from home.

Being a person with no family is miserable.
Being a person with no compassionate relationship is more miserable.
Being a person with no relationship to God is the most miserable.
Wars, natural calamities, political concurrences, social vices, immature parents... are breaking down so many families that no world agencies can offer sufficient relief.
Mournings, lamentations, cries keep on plaintively filling our planet every day.
Yes, I think we should turn to God first for inner peace under His invincible shelter, then to learn and practice our duty in changing our own lower selves in order to change radically once and for all our greatly suffering world. If we didn't change ourselves, there would be no hope for the world to change.

I've spent several holidays in the middle east sitting in a foxhole or tower. It isn't hard. Just another day to me.

Friends and God
Be sure to go to Church, that will lift you up right there, then go Volunteer to serve dinner at a homeless shelter, that will make you feel good too, helping people who have it worse off then you

Spend it with close friends. If I knew you, I certainly would not let you spend it by yourself. Let your friends know you'll be by yourself, and people out there, remember your single friends, or elderly, friends who are way far away from their home state.
