I find it hard to believe a Witness knocked on your door at 6 AM - I was a JW for many years and we would have never called at someone's door that early.
And as someone pointed out, Jehovah's Witnesses don't really preach much about Jesus.
But as to why JW's try harder to convert people than other religions, it's because they believe it's the only way they can be saved. The Watchtower Society has been promising for over a century that Armageddon is imminent, just around the corner, during YOUR lifetime (and the lifetime of your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and great great grandparents).
The WT has convinced its followers that if they want to be saved at Armageddon, then they must devote their lives to going door to door spreading Watchtower doctrine which they call the 'truth', even though Watchtower truth - unlike the Bible - is always changing.
Witnesses are required to "turn in their time" each month and report the number of hours they spent spreading WT teachings. Those with few hours are looked down on unless they have a really good excuse, such as sickness. Since the WT is all about conforming to the "organization", the peer pressure to go "out in service" is quite a large incentive.
The WT tells them - and they believe - that they are doing it to show love to God and neighbor, and that is also part of it. But their fanatical zeal comes from the fact that they are relentlessly compelled to "preach" by the WT leaders.. And threatened with 'destruction' if they don't do it.

Frankly, this so-called story makes no sense.
In the United States, Jehovah's Witnesses absolutely do *NOT* begin house-to-house ministry before 9:am on any day of the week. In some localities, weekend ministry does not begin until 10:am or even 10:30am.
In addition, Jehovah's Witness congregations *NEVER* recommend that a real Jehovah's Witness begin his presentation with a useless platitude such as "Jesus loves you" or "Jehovah loves you".
A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses do work harder than any other religion, and they would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

JWs do not go house to house at 6 am in the morning. The ministry starts at 9 -10 am, where we all meet in the kingdom hall or at a brother's house first. Those who start early may do street witnessing. We come together by two's and usually in a group. be careful for those who pretend to be JWs and are not.

You do not deserve a answer, because the very first thing you state is and outright lie.
A jehovah witness came to my house at 6 in the morning on a saturaday saying "jesus loves you" and I would have just loved to talk religion but it was too early.
We do not meet for the Ministry on Saturday until 9 a.m. it would more than likely be 9:30 a.m. or 9:45 a.m. before anyone would knock on your door.
Do you have any more untruths you would like to state at this time?
And the reason we continue to knock, is because of Religion.
Why does religion seem to be at the root of so many problems?
The fault lies, not with all religion, but with “false” religion.
False Religion...MEDDLES IN WAR AND POLITICS: How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war?
False Religion...SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul of spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning, it itself will die.” Ezekiel 18:4 Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected, an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. Does your religion teach that the soul does not die?
False Religion...TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: Church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men.” 1 Cor. 6:9,10 Do you know of religions that condone immoral sex?
How to identify true religion.
True Religion...PRACTICES LOVE: True worshippers are “no part of the world,” are not divided by race or culture, and display “love among themselves.” Rather than killing one another, they are willing to die for one another.
True Religion...TRUSTS GOD'S WORD: Instead of teaching “tradition” and “commands of men as doctrines,” true religion bases its doctrine on God's Word, the Bible
True Religion...STRENGTHENS FAMILIES AND UPHOLDS HISH MORAL STANDARDS: True religion trains husbands to “love their wives as their own bodies,” helps wives to develop “deep respect for their husbands,” and teaches children to “be obedient to their parents.”

I've been told before (not by a JW, mind you) that JW's are very into evangelism because of their intense views on eschatology (i don't think that is spelled right, but I mean the study of the end times). I think some other religions could learn something from them (the Bible does say "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." after all).

Are you sure that was a Jehovehs witness? It could have been a drunk...LOL
6 in the morning...WOW unbelievable! If he/she went to the wrong house they could have got a knuckle sandwich quite easily.
I myself would slam the door in their face and went back to bed...LOL
Put a sign out saying; "I DON'T ANSWER THE DOOR AT THE CRACK OF DAWN TO JEHOVAH WITNESSES".

Yeah, you don't see Catholics or Baptists at your front door at the crack of dawn.
I guess that they really seem to care about the welfare of their peers so they go to great lengths to convert them. People have handed me Watchtower tracts when I'm at a bus stop and even when I was out on a morning walk.
I'm sure they have good intentions but it's been said that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Most Christians (like myself) don't take their brand of theology seriously and find it un-Biblical

If a Jehovah Witness told you Jesus loves you, they were not Jehovah Witnesses. They don't believe in Jesus.

So, I see you modified you statement once it was pointed out that what you said was false. Even non-witnesses see through your deception.
