If you love someone, you want the best for them. The best may not be loving you.

Give your best to the one you love, and let that person choose to whom they want to give their love.

And if that person chooses to love you, receive that love with joy and humility.

Selfish. In what way? For a person to want to be with someone they love and loves them back, no. To do this when God has other things you can do for Him, maybe. To be fixated on finding a 'soulmate' is sometimes a thought put before you as a stumbling block in your walk with God. You need to look for His answer, not ours. We can only say pray, read the word, be a Berean....

Is it selfish to breathe? Someone else could use that oxygen! How about eating? Someone in Africa needs that food!

Sometimes selfishness is a good thing. If it affects the rest of your life - like being married to someone you don't love - go with selfishness and make your own decision.

Absolutely not. That's one thing that all people want. How could that be selfish? It's far from selfish to love another person unconditionally.

No, it's perfectly natural. Can love be forced? Not at all - that's opressive and wrong. Love just happens, and it's not selfish to want love.
