Yes, definitly! As long as the doors and windows are locked, she has a list of emergency numbers, plus that neighbor to check in on her, she will do fine! Also, it depends on how responsible you think your daughter is. Good Luck! :)

In Canada the magic age is 12.....however.....
you have the legal obligation to provide reasonable care and supervision until they are 18 (unless they move out at 16).
Personally, 12 is still a kid. If the child is very mature, then they are a mature kid, but still a kid.
I would say, for a mature child of 12, the maximum time to stay at home alone should be two or three hours.

As long as the doors are locked, she does not open them to any1 without a password and she does not answer the phone!
i did this and we communicated via land line-mobiles were not the in thing then-i would ring 2 hang up then 3, hang up so he would answer the 3rd time.
Just work out a plan that suits you both!
They need Independence and you need to know that you can trust them, it is all part of the child growing up and you letting go, a little bit at a time!
As long as she is mature enough, my son was, other kids his own age where not! Each individual is different!
If she is mature and sensible enough, and neighbour is there on hand, i do not see a problem as my neighbour was keeping an eye on the house anyway.

How mature is she? Can she be trusted on her own? These are things you need to ask yourself. Also do you trust the neighbor completely? Im not sure 12 is old enough to be home alone especially that late. Maybe if it was only till like 6 thats not to bad but after dark kids..even older kids tend to get more scared than they would ever admit too. Also what about dinner and stuff like that?

It's not legal to leave a child alone in the house for any length of time, and you never know what kind of trouble he/she will get into. I recommend not allowing a child to stay in the house alone until they are at least 14 and can prove they're responsible.

Depends on the maturity of the child. If I did leave my 12 year at home alone I would ensure that someone I trusted stopped in and checked on the child and also that the child could call me if anythiing happened

Depends on how mature she is but 12 should be fine. Make her promise she doesn't use the hob or oven, lock all windows and make sure she doesn't open the door to ANYONE.
If you have a mobile number or work number, write it down on numerous bits of paper and put next to the phone(s).
Make her dinner and lay out lots of snacks. Keep her occupied with her homework and set her some of your own homework such as writing a journal or painting pictures. If that's not her thing, buy her lots of make up which she can experiment with, or rent lots of DVDs. Let her invite a friend if she wants to watch a movie with someone.
The key is to keep them occupied so they don't do anything dangerous, and to leave enough food so they won't try to cook themselves. My sister nearly blew up my parent's house by cooking on a gas stove without lighting it!
I'm sure she'll be fine... good luck!

they need to know to never answer the door
have caller i.d so when you call she only answer to you
call every 30 min to checks
no use of stove, only easy things in microwave
no friend over..
you know if you need to work i understand, but you can ask
for a teenager over 17teen to stay the night on week time
their cheap, and you will feel more secure than you're kid being alone at night....

The more time a kid at any age is home alone...the more time they have to get into trouble. Neighbor or no neighbor. Even a good kid will get bored and get into some kind of trouble. If it were an hour or two, maybe, but until 10:30pm?? I wouldn't do it.

Most states ask for a child to be 14 and that is if they are going to be alone for more than 2 hrs. Check with your family and childrens services. You dont want to do anything to get them involved in your life, it takes forever to get them back out of it.
