He broke up but will take me back it seems if I can prove to him that there will be a change, i.e. being less argumentative and more sensitive to his needs. I'll do anything to have him back, and I want to change to be a better person, what do I have to do to prove to him I love him enough to change for him?

Well why were you guys arguing so much to start with? Why do you have to do all the changing? Remember, men don't change for us. Be very careful, when someone says "Ill take you back but ONLY if you PROVE to me"... you are giving him way too much control. I would say cya!

If you arent willing then apparently you do not actually love him enough.
