I'm not even a Christian, and I have to take issue with this assertion. Anybody with common sense would realize that there are many many factors that lead to a divorce. I'd be hard-pressed to believe that the sole cause of any divorce was either abstaining from sex before marriage or having premarital sex. This is a vast oversimplification of the issue.

One of the main reasons to get married is to make a permanent sexual commitment to one person. Why would anybody make such a lifelong commitment based on a surprise coming in the future? It's nonsensical. It's not a black-or-white subject. Just because people believe in premarital or nonmarital sex doesn't mean they're indiscriminate, disease-carrying prostitutes. Some people want to make sure they are marrying for ALL the right reasons.

I respect people who can wait and are willing to wait. Personally, I could not do it.

Sadly, I know of "devout" Catholic couples who will not divorce because it is a "sin," but then they have affairs. Is this right?

I explain It this way, religions are now telling people that divorce is ok if its for adultery, and the people getting the divorces, don`t want to believe what the Bible really says, Because , If they go by the Bible, they can not remarry for adultery, but ONLY for fornication. deception is the big reason for all the divorces. The devil will do what ever he can to fool people into believing a lie, and when your deep into a second or third marriage, it makes it harder to divorce and DO WHATS RIGHT, But GOD will expect, what man has VOWED TILL DEATH.

I take issue with your statement. I believe you made it up. Any study I've ever seen demonstrates the opposite. Common sense would also say otherwise since many religions that prohibit premarital sex also prohibit divorce, so even if there are couples staying together but not by choice, that would throw the stats in the other direction.

I think we put too much emphasis on sex in a marriage. Perhaps the nonsexual people were also noncommunicative.
What survey was your analysis based on?

Prove it. Where is your proof or did you just hear about it from someone. I challenge you to prove this. Because I don't believe it for a second.
