What is the breed? Some breeds, like Basenji's are "barkless" they can, they just don't. Instead they cry, and it sounds like a child!

I have a chihuahua that didn't bark until she was 9 months old and chihuahuas are well known to be barkers. She is almost 5 and I have heard her bark maybe 5 times. I have a 6 1/2 month old Chihuahua that has barked maybe 2 or 3 times. Some dogs are just not bsessed with the sound of themselves barking like other dogs are. Nothing to worry about.

Why ar you complaining? Most people ask me how to shut their dogs up, cuz all they do is bark. Be greatful. But it is possible depending on the kind of dog, he/she may not have heard enough dogs barking to learn to bark, or has no real reason to bark like a knock at the door. Is it a breed that does not bark like aBasenji? Or maybe the puppy is deaf and hasn't heard a bark and there for doesn't know it can. Good luck but i'm telling you be grateful.

10 weeks is pretty young for barking very much. Pups normally get what they need from mama by whining so I wouldn't freak out about it.
You might even consider yourself lucky b/c most people can't get their dog to shut up. :D A great deal of barking is usually a sign that the dog isn't receiving enough attention from the "pack" and they are trying to draw attention to themselves.
Keep paying close attention to your pup like it sounds as if you are doing, and when he is older and it's time to bark, he will.

Our dog didn't bark for the first 12 months of his life. We were very concerned. Now we cannot shush him as he never stops barking. Don't worry too much. Pup will mature & will bark.

Not all dogs bark for "nothing". Be glad its not a nuisance barker. That's one of the top reasons for people getting rid of dogs. If he feels the need to bark he will, in the mean time enjoy the silence!

I've only had labs, but usually they don't bark until they're older, like around 6 months. Believe me, you'll be happy that you're little guy is quiet now!
