being so young i 1st of all suggest you talk to a dr about starting a new diet and also stay away from supplements. but my advice to you is to keep track how much u r eating daily and right down how much calories you are taking in, then calculate your heart rate and duration when u r exercising to see how many calories you are burning. remember that 3500 extra calories=1 pound of fat, and do not expect to lose more than 1-2 per week(at most). if you drink sodas or sugary drinks cut those out, lets say you drink 2 180calorie sodas a day, thats 2520calories a week almost one pound of fat right there. staying in shape is a lifestyle u HAVE to have commitment to do it their is no magic way to make it work. but this being said u'd be surprised with wut lil changes can help; u dont have to starve urself or hit the gym 2 hrs a day; lil changes like cuttin soda intake, or instead of a snickers bar for lunch eat an apple, while watching tv get up to change the channel, going to the store park a lil further away to walk more, eat a home cook meal instead of fast food when u can etc...also drinking water can help. people say if u drink cold water ur body has to convert the cold water into room temp water therefore burning calories(water being 0 calories to begin with) though the calories burned are not great enough to be considered a diet alone it helps also water can help suppress ur hunger. i also hear yogurt can help boost ur metabolism, and instead of eating 3 large meals a day eat like 5 small meals a day will also boost ur metabolism
once u r in the habit of eating healthy snacks like fruits etc...you probably wont be able to tolerate sugary candies anymore.
same thing with fast food once you get use to eating homecook foods u cant really eat fried fatty foods anymore.
but like i said being 13 ur body is still growing and changing a serious diet i couldnt really suggest just try eating healthier and bein more active and talk to a dr.

It's generally unhealthy to loose more than two pounds per week... It's also usually not healthy for someone as young as yourself to worry that much about weight loss, because these are your habit forming years, and focusing a lot on loosing weight, or keeping a certain weight can lead to anorexia, or bulemia. Admittedly, kids are cruel, and tell a lot of fat jokes, but teasing isn't as bad as dying.
Eat what you normally would, just a little less than usual, and go for foods that have a little less fat than usual. Dramatic changes don't usually work, so just do baby steps. Eat to stop feeling hungry, but don't eat to feel full.
One of the major problems with dieting is that you tend to feel hungry all the time. That can make you irritable, and causes trouble sleeping. I found that by eating a little ice cream before bed time, I could sleep better, but I was a king-sized jerk most of the day if I was loosing any kind of noticeable weight, like a pound a week or more... I also found that what I thought was the right weight for me was quite a bit less than what other people thought was theright weight for me. When I gained some of it back, they thought I looked a lot better... even though I still think I look pudgy. You're growing up fast, which means you'll be outgrowing your clothes fast... this does not mean you are getting fat, it just means your changing from a child into an adult... probably...

Tips to maximize your metabolism
Metabolism basically means the count of calories you burn per day. Repeatedly you might have read articles about accelerating the rate of metabolism. The most common are consuming highly nutritious food and performing workouts. If your metabolism rate is slower, it shows you are burning less calories. In order to increase the rate, you must follow the below tips:
1) Do not observe fasting because you burn too many calories at once, which is really harmful to your body. In this process your muscles turn weak and you face dehydration rather than minimizing the fat content.
2) Dine about 6-8 times a day by consuming nutritious items such as fruits and vegetables..
3) A heavy breakfast is a key factor in increasing the rate of metabolism. Since you are awake for the whole day, the rate of metabolism is fast.
4) There are many kinds of healthy fats available such as nuts, fish, olive oil, and flax oil. They can be substitutes for processed carbs.
5) Consume less sugar so that the insulin production is regulated and you will thus burn calories easily.
6) Eat about 1 gm of protein per pound because the excessive fat content will be drained away.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

You shouldnt be stressed with trying to lose weight, you still have alot of growing to do. The best thing that i can think of is to drink lots of water, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meat and go for daily walks. If you havent got the ambition to go for walks then maybe take your dog for a walk or neighbours dog, a friend of mine started up a dog walking buisness in order for her to lose weight and at the same time she gets paid $5 per dog that she walks, so at the moment she is making $35 per week and losing between 1 - 2 kilos at the same time.
Good Luck!

heres the short and sweet-
eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight.
next, your too young to be stuck in physical perception mode
listen to everyone here and you will be worse than when you started.
talk to your folks about diet and cut out everything that starts with a "c" chips, cola, chocolate (i know) cookies, crackers, etc.
except for chicken, grilled or baked is an excellent protein source.
if you dont have one and are not islamic or something- at christmas, ask for an IPOD and take a mile or two after school walk.

#1) unless you are clinically obese, you are way too young to be worrying about your weight. more likely you have self esteem issues that you should deal with first.
#2) the first and only person you should ask about how to lose weight, or whether you should, is your doctor. period.
