Some of the details I am looking for are:
Gallon of Milk
Loaf of Bread
Diapers
Movie Ticket
Cotton Shirt
Gallon of Gas
Computer
Car
Family Vacation

I live in California, so I'm sure that will make a difference as well.
Thank you for all helpful answers.

Ps... I did several searches myself, but all I came up with were things like television shows, sports, books, music, and 'this day in history'. Those things are not helping me. I did my due dilligence. Hopefully someone else will have better luck/

I'm sure a search engine such as Google can help you...it was only last year. Why don't you look up some of last year's newspapers?

I would Google it and put specifics in the search criteria. Something to the effect to "cost of living for baby in 2005." That should work. Sometimes you have to play around with the google monster(smile) but, it always gives you what you are looking for! I wish you luck, my darling! Oh, just thought of something else! Maybe if you put "Cost of (what you are looking for ) in 2005" because even though you are doing your baby book most of these things are not necessarily related to the baby. Okay, well I hope this helps, gotta go try and help someone else my darling.......
