i don't know if they were possessed or not, but that was one creepy movie!
the way the lions avoided all the traps and ended up with the lions being the hunters instead of the hunted.
i would've gotten out of there as fast as my legs could carry me!

I do remember this movie. I don't know whether or not the lions were possessed, but they did behave in ways unnatural for lions, and since pigs were possessed in the Bible, it is possible.
What I remember most about this movie is how great an analogy it is of the Christian life. As long as people stayed close to a source of light, they were safe. It was in the darkness, off away from the others, that they were dragged off in their sleep.
In one scene, the men celebrated the victory over one lion by drinking and laughing as you heard the roar of the other lion off in the distance. I wanted to shout," Be sober, be on the alert, for the Devil prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour."

They weren't possessed. They were Tsavo lions, known for their lack of manes and extremely bad tempers thought to be brought on by the excessive heat.
These particular lions were suffering from abcessed teeth, and hunting for their normal prey was difficult for them. Humans are very easy prey, soft to eat, and could be consumed quite easily with a sore mouth.
That's all there is to their story. They were just lions. Nothing more.Their bodies are in the Chicago Field Museum.

It was a movie. If it was based on non-fiction, the date and settings would lead me to think that things were exaggerated.
Africa is filled with myth, folklore and those who make great stories out of small incidents. I actually would feel a little compassion for the people involved. Help them, set up education and healthcare centers. I don't think a movie theater is a priority, but maybe one of those, too

No. They were male lions that were on their own. They had no females to hunt for them. They learned that humans were easy prey. It has also been mentioned that the lions were suffering mental illness due to infection, too.

I believe that they were lions and that's what lions do. If you recall the movie, most of the killing occured when PEOPLE invaded THEIR territory. Work crews were clearing and developing land.

No. They were just very smart and very hungry. Have you read the book? It goes into much more detail about what happened.
