Should I convert pages to .jpgs and burn on a dvd or is it possble to create a .mpg or vcd of the pages turning which can be paused and read on the tv.

It's impossible. To read a pdf, your DVD must be able to load Acrobat Reader, and since it's written in a code that your DVD player doesn't understand, it will never load it. Therefore you can't view a pdf on a dvd player.

I think this is not possible for the momeent the mayority fo dvds player could not have a pdf view reader format acrobat or psarch (use in some linux). But i think there is possible in the future, if your player let you view pdfs plase tell me the model and the mark.
