I had an MRI because I had a huge lump on the back of my ankle and the MRI says a deep tear of the achiles Tendon. - What exactly does that mean? I can walk on it - it hurts and if you touch it I go thru the roof. It hurts worse when I am sitting with my feet flat on the ground. My primary physician gave me some anti inflamatorys and I see the ortho this week - but what do you think they will say.

I have the same thing. Doc said it's tenosynovitis. Was in a cast all summer and not allowed to put any weight on that foot during that time. Now I'm in a removable cast and can put 50% of my weight down while still on crutches. Going to therapy now and will soon be trading the crutches in for a cane. Hope you have better luck than me. Mine can't be repaired.
