The tradition behind Halloween has become commercialized. Halloween nowadays is about dressing up and getting candy. The same thing can be said about Easter. Easter is celebrated by a lot of people other than Christians. Now it's more about candy and Easter egg hunts than the return of Jesus.
Halloween or All Hallows Eve falls around the same day as the Catholic All Saints Day. In early times Christians would revolve their holidays around the old pagan ones. This was back when they had to worry about persecution. They could celebrate their beliefs in similar fashions but with different meanings behind it and no one else would know.

Actually the way it works if to always include pagan holidays into your belief system, making them void of any power etc. However, Halloween is like Valentines, it is nothing more than a retail delightl and money maker......It has nothing to do with anything other than keeping the flow of cash in the pockets of those that own the stores and stock there of.

For the same reason that they celebrate Christmas, which also started out being a pagan holiday. It's fun!

Because so many Christians like holidays. And candy. Almost all of the holidays have pagan roots anyway.

I am a Christian and I love Halloween. Too many people get uptight about Haloloween. We are not worshiping Satan, we are not practicing witchcraft, we are just dressing up and acting silly. For those people, you do know that Jesus has a sense of humor and had fun and obeyed God. You can do all that at the same time. Happy Halloween!!

They don't celebrate it as Pagans do. Dressing up and going door to door to get candy is not what the Pagans did.

Because it is a fun day. It isn't really a holiday like you get a day off. It has lost it's pagan roots.

Dunno, good question. It's just another day to me. I may buy a bag of sweets for the ol' lady and me but that's as far as it goes. Let those rug-rats bang at the door as I happily eat my bite size Mounds.
