you know, pourin, that's a very good question, and one that hits really close to home for me.
i was raised southern baptist. and i can remember all the hate speech i heard about and against Catholics for as far back as i can remember. when i grew up i didn't feel at home in the baptist faith--so i began looking.
i decided to look at Catholicism---there HAD to be reasons why the baptists hated them so much! at the same time i had decided to look elsewhere for a church home i was employed at a place that was a hotbed of protestantism. in the midst of all the protestant venom being spewed, i had two coworkers that were Catholic. they never ever blasted the protestants--and they seemed to have a peace and serenity about them that i wanted in my life.
so, to make a long story short, i checked out Catholicism. I liked what i found out. i took instruction and then converted to Catholicism over 25 years ago and have never regretted a minute of it.
i don't feel the need to belittle protestant's or their religion. i'm happy in my own faith and Church. its aggravating to keep hearing the same tired old stuff over and over---we worship Mary, we worship statutes, we're going to Hell, etc, etc. from people who've never stepped foot inside a Catholic church, much less studied our beliefs.
I hope I've answered well--I just don't feel the need to belittle our protestant brothers and sisters----and I'm happy in my own Catholic faith and church.

I am Catholic and I can only answer that I don't because I do not hate Protestants. I consider them my brothers and sisters in Christ. Not all Protestants consider us Catholics as evil, backwards, or non-Christians.

I am catholic and the catholics I know do not have hate in their hearts. You can hate me and or criticize me I really don't mind, I simply turn the other cheek because I'm continuing my spiritual journey no matter what people say.

No one should be posting or answering hatefully, period! When this is done by anyone in the Christian faith, they're not following the teachings of Christ. It's tough not to get a little angry at disrespectful conversation though.

Catholics don't have a problem with Protestants like the other way around. I think Protestants are bitter because Catholics invented their religion and all the rites and rules that go along with it.

Unfortunately for you, this question does not make catholics look any better than what you just did now. Shame on you! Generalizations won't get you know where. May God have mercy on you.

Maybe they are busy with their man made laws that keep them from the Kingdom. Many Protestants do the same through legalistic do's and don'ts. Lord have mercy on us all. We need a Savior. Thanks be to God he gave His Son to defeat our self-righteous acts of sin on the cross. Repent.

Catholics don't want to draw any more attention than they have to to their errors, their smug self-righteousness, their false doctrines, or their sordid history of persecuting others now and in times past. Remember the Crusades???
