Yes, about the third time I was injected for elbow tendinitis. As soon as the numbing medicine wore off I was in the worst pain for several hours and couldn't use my arm. After that I noticed there was tissue necrosis of the muscle in the area of the injection. Needless to say, I stopped getting the injections after that.

Yes my husband had a bad rotator cuff injury and the doctor gave him a cortisone injection. Sure he was pain free but the Dr never said be careful don't think this is a cure. My husband went back to work pain free and really caused serious damage. He was out of work for 2 years had 3 rota tor cuff surgeries. Cortisone is OK in moderation. To my knowledge never a good thing for long term. Ricki

Yes, I used to get them twice yearly for severe allergies that triggered asthma. Eventually, one injection left me feeling unaccountably, severely depressed for no apparent reason. I felt like the little guy in the Winnie The Pooh comics wandering around with a rain cloud over his head I wanted to cry all the time, which was not my personality at all. I could hardly even walk around with my head up at work, I was that depressed..Also my abdomen & face got puffy looking and I was very tired. Once I clued in & asked the Dr. he said that I had reached my quota of Pred. & should never have it again unless it was a life or death situation. It took awhile, but it went away as the shot wore off.
A horrible experience that prompted me to begin researching so-called alternative forms of medicine for natural relief without the side effects. I have been cortisone free for about 20 years now, no regrets.

I had it injected into my hip once.

Initially, it felt great; then WHAM! I felt as though I had been hit in the hip with a sledge hammer by the strongest man in the world.

It worked though. I haven't needed it since.

Of course... read the sports news.
Don't use it unless two doctors tell you need it for a certain medical condition.
