show your responsible in other things, like keeping your room clean, helping out around the house WITHOUT being asked..that might help show her that you will be responsible enough to take care of a kitty.

My children always used various approaches...usually a long sad face and promises to take care of the kitten...and long drawn out PPPPPPlllllllllllleeeeeeeeessssssssssseeeee! with a look of agony thrown in for good measure and informing me that this was the last...the runt...or some other special information about this particular kitten that would prevent it being chosen for adoption by any one else....like it's tail had been broken or it had some other peculiarity....like snaggle teeth or strange eyes. They knew I couldn't refuse a stray...or a hard luck story. I never really regretted taking in the pets...and most of the time we all learned different lessons from each one of these little creatures. If you make good on your part of it...you will learn love and responsibility...and those are wonderful things to learn.

There isn't REALLY a way to "make" your mom get you a kitten. All you have to do is prove to your mom that you are "responsible", and tell her again that YOU will pay for it with your OWN money. Even though that you want to, DO NOT bring the kitten home to your mom without her knowing.

Definitely get a shelter kitten. First, get yourself a book.
Read the whole thing, and let your mom see you reading it.
Don't make it obvious. Draw kittens on your books, your homework. Buy a kitten calender. Show her that you really really want one. Then if you have money, buy things that the kitten needs.
Finally, if this doesn't help... scream and b itch about it until she surrenders.

Well, maybe you should tell her to sit down and have a long talk about how you can take care of it. tell her that you will play with it, feed it, bath it, etc... and say that u've always wanted one and you will give it absolute love and care. Believe me it MIGHT work... i really want a puppy and i did that with my mom and i know that about 80 percent she will get me one. Also, try going to the pet store with your mom and show her the cats.. u never know, she could fall in love with one and wanna buy it.. Good luck

Change your tactic and start asking for a horse, pony, or pet snake instead. ::grin::
Not that *I* would have ever done anything like that in order to get a puppy or kitten......
(*whistles and looks around innocently at the ceiling*)
My apologies to all the parents out there.....

Show her you are responsible. Do your homework, do all your chores plus more around the house. Do things she normally would not expect you to do for her. She has to see you are responsible.
