I believe blue or green for living room for a sense of relaxation and red for the dining room/kitchen. I say red because it accents the food and is associated with feeling hearty and happy, which comliments food completely.

there is no such thing as the correct color for the living room and the dining room. you just need to be careful where you put the color red, since it activates a particular area, painted with it. the problem here is that when the area has negative energy combination (calculated based on the facing or degree to which the main door of the house is facing), and red is painted in it, then the negative is also "activated".
i like to emphasize that in fengshui, the location (in relation to the center of the house) of these rooms are more important than their colors. this method can be based on 8 mansions and/ or flying stars.
if you have a house with correctly located rooms, people living in it will be more happier and safer (away from negative energy, illnesses, misfortunes, etc.). as compared to a house that has rooms in the negative areas, whatever you do, it is harder to make the negative into positive... you can only remedy them to make them neutral, but the negative is still there, just dormant. thus, fengshui by color is insignificant.

Red stimulates appetite, green suppresses it. If you want to lose weight, Don't have red near food. Red also raises blood pressure.
These are tested physiological effects of these colors. Yellow promotes learning and mental activity. Blue is restful, but a little depressing and cool.

RED-a strong color that is great to keep you going. A good colour for a dining room to keep guests energized and excited. Not a good colour for the bedroom unless you desire lots of passion.
ORANGE- a happy color that is refreshing and revitalizing. Good for kitchens and playrooms. Softer shades for family rooms where you want a place for fun and relaxing
YELLOW-a happy color that brings creativity and vitality
GREEN- healing and calming color. Great for living rooms and bedrooms. It renews us and keeps us in balance
BLUE-a healing and mentally relaxing color. Good to bring blue into a room when someone is ill. Also good to keep the occupants calm and relaxed
INDIGO- relaxing color. Good for kids and to keep health in the home
PURPLE- color of richness and transformation. Great for spiritual rooms and to splash around the home for wealth and abundance.
