Yes, you can make your own, and it's healthy, too.

Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri's

1 cup fresh, washed, frozen, chopped strawberries
1/2 a cup white granulated sugar
1 cup of ice chips
1/2 a cup of white tequila, or vodka

Blend the strawberries into a pulp in a blender
add the ice and blend until the ice is busted in a very small crush
add all the other ingredients, and blend until smooth
Serve in tall glasses, with a slice of strawberry, and a slice of pineapple, if you wish

Banana Daiquiri's

the exact same recipe, except slice the bananas, and freeze them. Follow the same recipe, except this time add dark rum instead of vodka, or tequila

Pineapple Daiquiri's

Frozen pineapple chunks
1/4 cup of coconut juice (optional)
exact same recipe, use dark rum, you can add a shot of tequila combined with the rum
Add a cherry or two, and a coconut sliver (if you can find some, if not, buy a coconut, and break it apart, lay a hunk of it in the top of the glass to settle in the drink, its pretty) on a toothpick for decoration in the glass.
If you cannot get coconut, the drink is fine without it, but increase the pineapple, by a 1/4 cup

Enjoy!

Im not sure what you mean by substitute. As Originally the drink was served in a tall glass packed with cracked ice. A teaspoon of sugar was poured over the ice and the juice of one or two limes was squeezed over the sugar. Two or three ounces of rum completed the mixture. The glass was then frosted by stirring with a long-handled spoon. Later the Daiquiri evolved to be mixed in a shaker with the same ingredients but with shaved ice. After a thorough shaking, it was poured into a chilled flute glass. Im sure suger, limes and rum are avaiable in the uk.

I think we used to make daiquiris using frozen lemonade or limeade - that was pre-mix.
