I have a 1997 Grand Caravan ES

There is a switch somewhere on your shift linkage that activates iwhen you move the shifter to reverse. You need to get under your vehicle, make sure it won't roll, and have someone shift to reverse. You should be able to do this with engine off. You should be able to locate the switch by watching what moves. It may be loose, a loose wire or bad switch.

There used to be a reverse light swich located on or near the trans. See if you have one on your make/model replace it if needed unless maybe the wie connector came off.

Dodgey wireing , might be shorting out somwhere , get an Auto electrition to look at it .
