Assure her she can zonk out for ten hours; actually if air travel bothers her thatmuch, then fly to LA stay for a day, then fly to Honolulu, it would only be a three maybe four over trip. And tell her that Hawai'i is so beautiful that it is well worth the trip!!

Peace....

Perhaps you could suggest other things to do in Florida besides Disneyworld. There's St. Augustine, one of (the?) oldest European settlements in the New World. There's Cape Canaveral. And there are other theme parks like Marineland.
I could make other suggestions if I knew where you were coming from and whether you were driving or flying to Florida.
Good luck. It sounds like your mom doesn't have much imagination. I'm with you. I've never been to any of the Disney theme parks and I don't think I've missed much and I'm sure I've saved a lot of money. There are so many cultural, historical and natural sights worth seeing in the US, I don't know why some people get stuck in such ruts.

Well, if you're 13, unfortunately, you have little say. 13-year-olds are generally not the ones earning and paying for trips; nor can you travel solo.

Rather than take a hard-line approach for Hawai'i, maybe find something mutually acceptable. Let her know you're bored with Disney, and present an alternative that meets her tastes as well as yours. Present it calmly and intelligently, stressing the advantages your choice has over Disney. Shel'' probably be impressed and proud of you.

The hard part we can't help you with, because we don't know either of you well enough: 1. What kind of places do you enjoy? 2. What kind of places does she enjoy? 3. What are the limitations (such as both of your dislikes and your budget).
