warm salty water gargle, painkillers like codeine, ibuprofen etc (asuming she is ok to take them).

Eating will be out of the question for a couple of days, but if she does eat anything, she should gargle with salt water after. This will help prevent any food sticking into he wound or stitches. She will have to be really careful not to let anything get stuck in there as it will cause an infection. And that will hurt. A lot.

Avoid eating anything to hot or too cold as this will cause a painful reaction from the wound.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth out under general anaesthetic many years ago.
Overnight stay in hospital.....2 stitches in each gum.....was sore for a week and eventually had to have last stitch cut away because it wouldn't dissolve.
Took 2 painkillers every day for 4 days but after final stitch was out all was OK.

How long has she/he had this done? is he/she taking any antibiotics to prevent infection?
The best thing to do is rinse the mouth with warm water with plenty of salt, a couple of ibuprofen and keep an eye for any sign of infection.

Salt water gargles, when they can - boil water, add as much salt as they can stand, allow to cool then gargle and spit. I did this every couple of hours and my mouth healed up really well.

Arnica tablets - 200c if available, if not, 30c - but in a clean mouth, ie no food or drink for 30 minutes either side.

lots of vaseline or lip balm around the lips helps, and use a straw to drink plenty of water, the mouth is the fastest healing part of the body, a couple of days and it will be healed up pretty well, just keep dosed up on strong pain killers and stay in bed.

Soft food, painkillers and warm compresses for the swollen face
:(
The numbness could be temporary, but unfortunately sometimes it isnt...the nerve which supplies that area could have been damaged.
