My husband and I like to make sure our chicken is thoroughly done, so we have sometimes par-boiled our chicken first for about 15-20 minutes. We also sometimes marinade it in a lite italian dressing or in olive oil with our favorite seasonings overnite to allow the chicken to get moist and absorb the seasonings.
After doing these steps, we then place it on our bbq grill to cook slowly. We cook it bone side down first on low/ medium heat before flipping. Also, we wait till the last 20 minutes just when our chicken is close to being done before basting our favorite bbq sauce on. That way it doesn't burn on the chicken so bad and will be saucier.
Hopefully this helps! Happy BBQing!

i cook one side and turn and cook the other side than i add bbq sauce to one side so the sauce is brown and turn and put sauce on the other side ..i keep adding sauce through out the end of the cooking process...that way there will be a lot of sauce on chicken....

Yes, but only one time. And use a spatula, not a fork, if you pierce the chicken you'll lose all the juices and it will be dry.
