I plan on seeing a doctor, but in the mean time I am curious if anyone has the symptoms, and what you have been diagnosed with. When I'm tired and try to take a nap I can feel my heart pounding, and also when I am trying to fall asleep. After I finally fall asleep and start to wake up, I will start to get a strong heart beat that I can feel, but it goes away once I get up. If you have these symptoms what was your diagnosis? I plan on seeing a doctor, so there is no need to tell me to see one.

Occasionally I can feel my heart beating a tad fast, and/or a tad strongly. I think at it, and it slows down. I can't tell you exactly how it works, but it is a form of biofeedback, and I have been doing it for many years. I have never used any of the equipment described, or had therapy, I just discovered I could do it.

back in the late 80's I had them allot and I was scared. I had them sleeping, waking like you and even while awake and all through the day. I was under allot of stress and my diet was less to be diseried. So I finally went to the doc and I got a stress test. The cardiologist said that it did not happen under the stress test so he had no concern and most of the time they go away with excercise. So I got back into my routine again and away they went. Glad you are going to get yourself checked out. There was no diagnosis for me. Just not to worry and get back with it. Excercise and good dieting and it all went away. I hope you don't do anything heavy until you see who you are going to. God Luck to you. P.S. how did you get your info on your Tv answer?

I've had them off and on for years, particularly if I drink too much caffeine or if I'm stressed. They're usually harmless, but wouldn't hurt to have a check up.
