i just purchased a 1972 fleetwood festival and it looks old so i thought nice vinyl siding would spruce it up, i have seen amny differnt kinds of siding and liked the ones that look like cedar shakes and wonder if anyone else has put them on and if they like them... thanks in advance for any answers

My father sided his mobile home with the shake look siding. It looks pretty good. It was very expensive though, and we did all the labor ourselves. If you are going to be living there for the next 10-15 years it might be worth it, otherwise painting is the far better option.

If you're looking to replace it, forget it. It'll cost you more money than your coach is worth. If it's faded, it can be repainted. I just had mine repainted for the second time in 5 years. It was repainted when I first moved in to give it a fresh look. Last Summer, I had the money to paint it different colors. I went from dark brown & tan to Hunter green & almond. I had the painter add black to the Hunter green to make it darker. When he did the first coat, it was too bright, even dry.

I live in a 1978 coach that had some worn spots & dents on the siding. The painter used a filler to go over the spots then buffed them before painting. I think it was some kind of primer or spackle. My coach looks brand new & I love the colors.

What is it you want to know?
It makes it look a lot better. Holds the temp better. Cost effective.

its probly your best choice. its easy to put up. moderatly low in cost. and real easy to clean. it lasts forever too.
